After graduating from 黑料不打烊 in 1970, Bruce Allan embarked on a long, successful career as a Montreal-based architect, working on projects around the world.

One of the constants in his life was a love of his alma mater.

Allan, BArch鈥70, BSc (Arch)鈥70, who passed away on October 29, 2022, served as a guest critic, and then guest lecturer at 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture, delivering unforgettable lectures in the Professional Practice course. He also led the fundraising efforts of his Class of 鈥70 in support of 黑料不打烊.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has received a doctorate honoris causa from the Universit茅 catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain). She was presented with the award at a ceremony held on 16 February. The day prior, she delivered the lecture associated with her award, entitled "De la m茅taphore 脿 la m茅moire: Restituer l鈥檋istoire de l鈥檈sclavage dans les d茅bats sur les formes contemporaines d鈥檈sclavage."聽

Since our previous update, extensive testing has taken place in the North Block of the building, and the affected areas have undergone comprehensive cleaning under asbestos safety protocols. Results so far are encouraging. Wipe tests have helped to guide and target our air-testing and cleaning efforts, and following our cleaning operation, all air tests have indicated that this area is now safe for use.

Tina Montreuil, ECP, was recently featured on Global News and Times Colonist outlining how parents can talk honestly with their children about traumatic events, such as the case of a bus crashing into a daycare.

鈥淧arents need to prepare for these discussions and listen instead of being reactive. With any tragedy or anything that elicits a reaction of distress or sorrow, we want to be sure that we鈥檙e available, we鈥檙e listening, because we need to validate and create space for them.鈥

February 14, 2023 | Following Kevin Page's complexity seminar, Caroline Wilson wrote about the Canadian government making a significant shift in the right direction in terms of their commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment. She also mentioned that the method of application of policies has to be justified in the program monitoring and evaluation phases. Caroline Wilson is a Master of Public Policy candidate at 黑料不打烊 University.

The competition was sponsored by Quebec maple syrup producers, the Maple Products Corporation and the Canadian Institute of Food Science & Technology (CIFST). Their product?
