I have also been able to integrate new acquired knowledge into my practice, which helps me guide patients on their journey of living with chronic pain and to refer them appropriately when needed."

Despite working with chronic pain for over a decade, all subjects and perspectives that I learned in this course made a huge difference in my daily life.
I better comprehend complex cases and I am aware of all interventions available for my patients to live a better life regardless of other health problems or living conditions.
I鈥檓 confident that anyone who is working in this area should learn these skills to better treat patients and work in interprofessional teams.
Furthermore, I am convinced that the level of knowledge learned is what we need to to work together, more efficiently, to reduce the impact of chronic pain on the public health care system."

The potential for holistic, interdisciplinary treatment models was also highlighted, both in presented research, as well as in practice through group homework and online forums where all healthcare backgrounds were considered and celebrated.
I have implemented many aspects of this program into my clinical practice, both as a therapist and as a communicator with physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses and doctors who share the same clientele.
I would highly recommend this diploma for anyone wishing to expand their idea of the roles that they, and their healthcare colleagues, can play in helping clients manage chronic pain."

Using my own therapeutic interventions differently, as active communication tools, my patients actively participate in their rehabilitation path. I realize that as clinicians, we become the guides who accompany the patient through their rehabilitation.
We must help patients become more knowledgeable about their condition, their feelings surrounding it, and their abilities because they often tell us their story which best identifies with their own ideas, values, and beliefs to make sense of what is happening. However, their story may contain some limitations or myths and we can help them see these and make a difference.
听鈥..what I didn鈥檛 expect was the richness of learning with my online colleagues from various disciplines and regions in the world.
Learning about their different perspectives, approaches, expertise, really made for an experience I truly appreciate!鈥

The pace of the online program was manageable and such that I was able to gradually evolve my clinical practice as I integrated what I was learning over the course of the program. It was nice to have access to articles and resources as well as working in groups with other practitioners to gain an interdisciplinary perspective on pain management."
