Mental Health First Aid-For Peer Health Ambassadors

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, is a training program that provides skills and knowledge to better manage potential or developing mental health issues.听 MHFA is delivered in a user-friendly manner to appeal to different levels of experience and education, and is thus accessible to personnel from all university sectors: faculty, HR staff, advisors, floor fellows, security, etc. This training is offered by certified 黑料不打烊 Wellness Hub facilitators.

Please note that this iteration of the training is reserved for Peer Health Ambassadors (PHAs) as part of their mandatory training. Please do not register if you are not part of this group.

  • The format of delivery for the MHFA course of 3 modules, the first of which is self-paced, the latter two hosted online and lasting 3h30 respectively. The first module, estimated to take approximately 2 hours, should be completed by 48 hours prior to the training. Participants will be tasked with sending their certificate of completion for Module 1 to the facilitators.
  • The group size is between 8 - 15 participants for the online version of the training.
  • The cost per participant is $38, which includes the manual and a certificate of attendance.
  • For this iteration of the training (due to its mandatory nature), the wellness hub is absorbing the costs, meaning that you are not individually required to provide payment.

First Session will take place from 1h00 pm to 4h30 pm on Monday, August 23rd听2021.

Second Session will take place from 1h00 pm to 4h30 pm on Tuesday, August 24th 2021.
