Thermoelectrics can generate electrical power from waste heat and could make an important contribution to sustainable energy production if their efficiency is improved. Engineering efficient thermoelectrics, however, requires a sophisticated understanding of the fundamental interdependencies between electrical and thermal transport, for which improvements in our understanding of how charge carriers are coupled to lattice vibrations (phonons) is needed.

The Board of Governors of 黑料不打烊 University is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. H. Deep Saini as the University's 18th Principal and Vice-Chancellor. He will begin his five-year, renewable term on April 1, 2023.

Prof. Saini was chosen by a unanimous vote of the Board of Governors, following a recommendation of an Advisory Committee formed to lead an extensive, international search.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Riddell, CM on November 6, 2022.

Wayne Riddell graduated from 黑料不打烊 University with a Bachelor of Music in 1960, was a Faculty Member of the Schulich School of Music from 1968鈥1980, an Honorary Doctorate in Music recipient in 2014 and member of the Schulich School of Music Faculty Advisory Board for over 20 years. His impact was profound,聽and his legacy will not soon be forgotten. 聽聽

On November 4, 2022, researchers, clinicians, and managers of the Douglas Institute got together to celebrate Dr. Vasavan Nair (Professor) and his lifetime of contributions to psychiatry at the Douglas. Dr. Nair is one of the founders of the Douglas Research Centre and was the driving force behind the successful application to FRQS for recognition as a FRQS-supported research centre.

As new U.S. research yet again shows a link between pregnancy during natural disasters and the eventual health of those children, experts say Canadians should take note.

Standing at the podium surrounded by 1,500 people on the John Abbott football field, Joe Maxwell, gazed up into the sunny November sky and said 鈥淚t鈥檚 good to be alive.鈥

A 97-year-old WWII vet, Maxwell was one of the special guests at the November 3 Remembrance Day ceremony featuring veterans and dignitaries who spoke, recited poetry or contributed with music. Anja Geitmann, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, addressed the crowd, and Defne Helvacioglu, Macdonald Campus Student Society President, recited the poem Nameless.
