Call for Proposals:

Are you a 黑料不打烊 researcher, student, or staff member involved in a project to promote or incorporate open research practices? The Organizing Committee invites lightning talk proposals for the inaugural 黑料不打烊 Library open research symposium: The future is open: Building an open research community at 黑料不打烊. Lightning talks consist of a 5-minute presentation highlighting open research, cutting-edge practice, or both. We are hoping to feature a range of presentations representing many disciplines.

In 2018, leukemia survivor Mai Duong founded Swab the World, a foundation that educates people about the lack of diversity among stem cell donors, the initiative is getting an assist from MMA Gives, a campaign that gives non-profits, SMEs and NGOs the opportunity to work with Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) students to help meet their analytics goals.

Dr. Richard Montoro (Associate Professor) was named the 2022 Prix d鈥檈xcellence en d茅veloppement professionnel continue from F茅d茅ration des m茅decins sp茅cialistes du Qu茅bec.This distinguished prize was awarded at the Journ茅es de formation interdisciplinaires (JFI), Palais des congr猫s de Montr茅al on November 18. This awards recognizes pioneers, builders and innovators who have advanced professional development through the implementation of educational processes, resources or educational tools. When does deviance from the norm propel a career or stop it in its tracks? Call it law-breaking or call it creative license, in creative industries and occupations, intellectual property concerns can make or break reputations, careers, and companies. Ask the creators themselves whether something is deviant, illegal, or illegitimate and the answers aren鈥檛 simply yes or no, they鈥檙e varying shades of grey. In the electronic dance music community, for one, the enforcement of certain norms and legalities around intellectual property isn鈥檛 always up to the law鈥攊t鈥檚 up to the community.

Our decision to hold in-person activities at Homecoming this Fall has been welcomed by alumni and I look forward to seeing many of you at events this week. The Dean鈥檚 cocktail and the Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture Breakfast, hosted by the School鈥檚 Director, Prof. David Theodore, have strong participation already, and our latest addition this year, the 黑料不打烊 Engine Open House, is also filling up.
