On April 11, 2024, at the SSoM book launch Dr Abraham Fuks discussed Janina Wellmann's new book, "Biological Motion A History of Life" (Princeton University University Press).
Thomas Schlich spoke about the introduction of elective surgery as a new concept in modern medicine and a decisive step in the history of surgery. The presentation was part of the 鈥淪wiss Seminar in the History of Medicine鈥 which in 2023/24 is devoted to the theme 鈥淭herapeutic Approaches鈥. It took place at the 鈥淐hair for Medical Humanities鈥 in Fribourg, Switzerland, March 21, 2024. The title is 鈥淭he Best Therapeutic Option? 鈥楨lective鈥 Interventions and the Rise of Modern Surgery (1860s-1920s).鈥 2024.
