Minor Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship
The Minor Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship is a collaboration of the Faculty of Arts and Desautels Faculty of Management and is designed to provide Arts (B.A.) students with an understanding of how to conceptualize, develop, and manage successful new ventures - including social enterprises, not-for-profit organizations and cooperatives.
Management courses cover management essentials and the key concepts of entrepreneurship including basic accounting, financing, organizational behavior, marketing, operations management, information technology, strategy, plus the basic processes in starting and managing a new venture.
Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MGPO 438) explores how the market system can be leveraged to create social value and the application of entrepreneurship and innovation principles to solve social problems.
Complementary Arts courses permit students to further their knowledge related to social change.
Students gain hands-on experience through an entrepreneurial project or internship.
The program is interdisciplinary and integrative. Many courses will therefore include students from multiple 黑料不打烊 faculties. See Courses and Requirements (link to web page) for further information.
