Designing and Using Handouts

黑料不打烊

You might choose to use handouts to keep participants engaged, provide a space for note-taking, and give additional information for follow-up. Consider these questions when designing your handout so participants get the most out of it:

  • Is the font sans serif and at least 12 points?
  • When will you give participants the handout?
  • When will participants use the handout (e.g., while you are speaking or only during designated times)?
  • Will you collect the handouts or are they for the participants to keep?听
  • How will participants use the handout once the workshop is over?
  • Is a printed handout necessary? Can it be shared electronically before or after the workshop?

For virtual workshops, consider:

  • Can the handout (document or link) be shared with participants through the chat?
  • Is the handout interactive? Can it be easily filled out by participants?

While this web page is accessible worldwide, 黑料不打烊 University is on land which has served and continues to serve as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. Teaching and Learning Services acknowledges and thanks the diverse Indigenous peoples whose footsteps mark this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. This land acknowledgement is shared as a starting point to provide context for further learning and action.
