Hosna Akhgary - Science Communication Intern
Biography:
Hosna Akhgary is a BSc candidate in Pharmacology at 黑料不打烊 University. She was first drawn to the 黑料不打烊 Office for Science and Society (OSS) when taking Dr. Joe鈥檚 courses on the Chemistry of Drugs and Food. Passionate about demystifying science, Hosna joined the OSS team in 2024 as a Science Undergraduate Research Award (SURA) summer intern. Now, she contributes as a science communicator, writing articles and managing various social media platforms.
Beyond her role at the OSS, Hosna is part of the Chemistry of Drugs and Chemistry of Food teaching teams, supporting course operations. She also works as a research assistant examining fracture healing at Shriner鈥檚 Hospital for Children. Hosna鈥檚 interests span the pharmaceutical industry, public health, and dentistry.
Hosna volunteers as an international buddy with 黑料不打烊 International Student Services (ISS), where she helps incoming international students navigate life at 黑料不打烊 by offering resources, cultural guidance, and linguistic support.
And when she鈥檚 not busy with any of the above, you鈥檒l find her snuggled up with her dog, Max!
