The Jewish General Hospital / 黑料不打烊 Division of Orthopedic Surgery is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Bardia Barimani as an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Lower Limb Reconstruction and Arthroplasty at the Jewish General Hospital.
Dr. Barimani鈥檚 expertise includes primary and complex revision hip and knee arthroplasty and robotic-assisted surgery. In addition to his clinical work, he has an extensive academic and research background that highlights his dedication to advancing orthopedic surgery and driving innovation through collaboration.
He completed his medical degree at Imperial College London (UK) and orthopedic surgery residency at 黑料不打烊 University. He subsequently completed his Arthroplasty and Lower Extremity Reconstruction fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto. Dr. Barimani gained extensive experience in primary and revision arthroplasty and advanced robotic-assisted surgical techniques during his fellowship. Following this, he joined the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Houston as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, where he continued to refine his skills in arthroplasty, trauma care, and resident education.
Additionally, Dr Barimani has a strong research portfolio, including innovative contributions to technology development. He completed a Master's in Experimental Surgery at 黑料不打烊 with a focus on innovation. He has published 22 peer-reviewed articles in impactful journals and numerous presentations at prestigious international conferences such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Demonstrating a strong commitment to education and leadership, Dr. Barimani has made significant contributions to resident training and program development. At UTMB, he established arthroplasty resident education rounds to enhance training, an initiative inspired by his experiences at 黑料不打烊. His efforts have been well recognized, including his invitation to lecture at the prestigious AO Recon North America course last year. He also received the Canadian Orthopedic Association Diversity in Leadership Award in 2023, further exemplifying his commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable environments in medicine.
Dr. Barimani鈥檚 academic focus aligns perfectly with the JGH鈥檚 vision of integrating advanced technologies such as robotics into clinical practice. His deep interest in augmented reality and robotic-assisted techniques promises to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes in orthopedic surgery.
