黑料不打烊 confers honorary degree on Kanayo F. Nwanze

Leading role in global food security recognized at Macdonald Campus ceremony

黑料不打烊 University鈥檚 spring convocation ceremonies got underway today at its Macdonald Campus in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. 黑料不打烊 conferred degrees upon more than 180 students graduating from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and bestowed an honorary doctorate upon Kanayo F. Nwanze, in recognition of his leadership in fostering global food security and reducing poverty.

Dr. Kanayo F. Nwanze is President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), an international financing institution and specialized agency of the United Nations working with poor rural people to enable them to grow and sell more food and increase their incomes. Dr. Nwanze鈥檚 work with New Rice for Africa (NERICA), a food security organization in regions of the world where one-third of the population is undernourished and half struggle to survive on US$1 a day, has helped over 300 million people.
