The Neuro's CNDM offers biomethodology workshops designed to comply with all current recommendations of the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) regarding practical training of biomedical research personnel on proper animal care and use.
Please note that all individuals who work with animals must be appropriately trained prior to being granted access to the CNDM.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the workshop, otherwise the fee will still be charged. Late arrivals will not be admitted.听A workshop may be cancelled if there is insufficient enrollment.
In preparation for the workshop, read your Animal Use Protocol and be familiar with the procedures listed in it. Read the workshop handout and answer the quiz prior to the course. Bring a clean lab coat and a picture identification card.听
General Information: MNI/黑料不打烊 members will be given priority. If the instructor determines that you are not able to perform a technique by the end of the workshop, you must retake the workshop at a later date. You will be required to pass a short test. If you score less than 80% on the test but the instructor determines that you are able to perform the technique, a second test must be scheduled within 2 weeks.听

Introduction to the Laboratory Mouse/Rat:
All individuals working with laboratory rodents must complete this module.

Rodent Surgery and Aseptic Technique (Mouse/Rat)
Modules 1, 2 and 3 are prerequisites
This module is exclusively for participants who will be performing recovery surgeries on rodents; it is composed of 3-4 training sessions.

The 黑料不打烊 University Animal Care Committee (UACC), in conjunction with the Office of the Vice Principal (Research and International Relations), offers training in animal use for research and teaching as part of our institution's commitment to animal welfare when there are no alternatives but to include them in projects having scientific merit.
