Professor Stratton鈥檚 research on glial cells鈥攐ften referred to as the "supporting cast" of the nervous system, looks at the the key role these cells play in in understanding brain function and disease.听 听

About Richard Leblanc:听Dr. Richard Leblanc is a neurosurgeon and former director of the Brain Tumour Program at The Neuro, where he specialized in brain tumour genetics and advanced imaging techniques for tumour treatment. He was a pioneer in the use of magnetic resonance spectroscopy to guide treatment for gliomas and led key clinical trials in gene therapy and the combination of Temozolomide with radiotherapy for glioblastoma, a treatment now considered standard.听
Dr. Leblanc serves as The Neuro鈥檚 historian, having written extensively about the legacy of Dr. Wilder Penfield, founder of The Neuro. In addition to co-authoring The Wounded Brain Healed, a detailed history of The Neuro's first 50 years, Dr. Leblanc has also authored other books including a second book, Radical Treatment: Wilder Penfield鈥檚 Life in Neuroscience, which explores Penfield鈥檚 pioneering work in brain surgery, particularly his revolutionary techniques in the treatment of epilepsy, and his lasting influence on neuroscience and medical education worldwide.听听
