Residency Program

The Residency Program is 2 years in duration and provides the resident with clinical experience and theoretical knowledge in all aspects of modern radiation oncology physics. An important objective of the program is to prepare the resident for the professional examination and licensure process in the specialty of Radiation Oncology Physics. The Residency Program consists of four clinical rotations and four didactic courses.

Admission requirements:

Our admission policies are non-discriminatory, and residents are chosen based on their academic credentials and their potential for success in the field of medical physics.

Residents entering the program must have a strong foundation in basic physics. The applicant must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree program in physics or a closely related discipline such as engineering or another physical science with enough coursework that it is deemed the equivalent of a minor in physics.

Applicants must either have graduated from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or possess a Ph.D. in physics or a related discipline and have completed a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program. Individuals with other qualifications who have completed coursework that satisfies the CAMPEP standards for graduate education may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the program director.
