The specimen consists of the aortic root and valve, the latter with three equal size leaflets without fibrosis. All leaflets show multiple vegetations, consistent with acute infectious endocarditis.

This specimen is mistakenly labeled 鈥渂icuspid valve鈥�. The raph茅 referred to in the descriptive card is not evident; (the arrow on Rodin鈥檚 image (A) indicates a small atherosclerotic plaque on the aorta). It is possible that the descriptive card belongs with specimen 19.
