2023: lamathilde
Lamathilde is a video-sound-performance artist. Her work investigates identity through sexuality and gender using low-grade video, super 8, manipulated film footage and stop-motion animation. Sound is at the core of her practice. Her work has been shown in many galleries and international festivals, including Pink Screens 鈥� Brussels, Festival des films gais et lesbiens 鈥� Paris, London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival , Mix Festival 鈥� New York, and as well as in Germany, Italy, Holland, Philippines, Canada, Slovenia, Australia, Lebanon.
Born in France, lamathilde lives and works in Montreal. She was part of the sound-performance collective WWKA (2004-2012), has hosted a radio show for 5 years and is an active member of the Montreal visual arts scene.
The Workshop:聽"Arte Video Povera and DIY Self-Portraiture: How to tell stories through images without professional equipment"
This is a DIY experimental video production workshop focused on creating DIY self-portraiture through cellphones and free software. The goal is to develop simple tools for media creation, and produce and share finished work in a collaborative and engaged atmosphere.
Dates: Two weekends: January 28-29 and February 11-12, 11am-4pm, every day. You must be able to attend all sessions, and need to bring a device you can record with, such as a cellphone.

2018: Alan Handel
Award-winning filmmaker Alan Handel is one of Canada鈥檚 leading producers of nonfiction television. His work as director and producer has been broadcast in Canada and on television networks around the world.聽 is a leading international producer of factual television, drama-documentaries and CGI specials.
As director, Alan鈥檚 productions includes The Apprenticeship of Mordecai Richler (1986), The Lonely Passion of Brian Moore (1986), A Passage from Burnt Islands (1992), Singing in the Shadow: The Children of Rock Royalty (2003), and Whisky and Water: The Rise and Fall of a Hollywood Dream (2007). As producer, Alan鈥檚 movies and television programs include the documentaries How William Shatner Changed the World听(2005), The Last Day of the Dinosaurs (2010), Pearl Harbour: The Accused (2016), Titanic: The New Evidence (2017), and the television documentary series Strip the City (2012), Brave New World (2013), and Aliens: The Definitive Guide (2013)
The first part of Alan鈥檚 career was at CBC Television where he worked on the Fifth Estate and The Journal and was Senior Producer of CBC Current Affairs in Qu茅bec during the first referendum.
