Cell division is a fundamental process for growth and repair in our bodies. It relies on the beautiful and complex machinery of the mitotic spindle to ensure the accurate distribution of genetic material. The spindle is made up of tiny structures called microtubules, which act like molecular cables to move chromosomes to the right places. When these microtubules don't work properly, cells can end up with the wrong number of chromosomes, a condition known as aneuploidy, which is linked to cancer.

When certain species of wild birds and primates discover new ways of finding food in the wild, it can serve to measure their flexibility and intelligence.
In the largest experimental study ever conducted on this topic, a team of researchers from Rockefeller University headed by postdoctoral fellow Jean-Nicolas Audet have shown, in collaboration with 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Louis Lefebvre, that foraging problems requiring overcoming obstacles, such as removing the lid off a container of food, are the only predictors of brain size and innovative behaviour in the wild.
