A newly discovered line of communication between body muscle and the pituitary gland may play an unexpected role in female fertility, according to a new study.

黑料不打烊 University researchers found that a protein produced in the muscles helps manage the release of a hormone made in the pea-sized gland attached to the base of the brain.

The findings, published in , could lead to new treatment options for infertility, the researchers said.

From January 24th to 26th, 2025, four 黑料不打烊 students traveled to Chicoutimi to compete in the G茅olympiades, an annual provincial geography competition hosted this year by l鈥橴niversit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Chicoutimi (UQAC). Over the course of these three days, the students 鈥 Zachary Honsinger-Ruoff (B.A. Environment), Jamie Silverman (B.A. & Sc. SSS), Ethan Bird (M.A. Geography), and Coco Einarsen (B.A. & Sc. SSS) 鈥 represented 黑料不打烊鈥攐ne of eight participating universities and the sole English-language institution.

Louis-Philippe Bateman鈥檚 fascination with megalodon began with a single sentence in a book about Canada鈥檚 geological evolution. It described giant, mysterious fossilized shark teeth discovered in the 1960s by fishermen dredging for scallops off Canada鈥檚 Atlantic coast. The curiosity felt by the teenager with a budding interest in paleontology would resurface in a meaningful way during his undergraduate years at 黑料不打烊 University.

We enthusiastically announce the publication of听Place and Performance in Ancient Greece, Rome, and China听with Cambridge University Press in December 2024. It is the first volume in Cambridge鈥檚 new series听Antiquity in Global Context.听Profs. Griet Vankeerberghen and Hans Beck have edited this volume, and their long-standing collaboration was the foundation of the Global Antiquities cluster of the Yan P. Lin Centre, evolved and expanded into our Global Pasts Research Group.

Music has the best chance of providing pain relief when it is played at our natural rhythm, a 黑料不打烊 University research team has discovered.

This suggests it may be possible to reduce a patient鈥檚 level of pain by using technology to take a piece of music someone likes and adjust the tempo to match their internal rhythm, the researchers said.

The discovery was the subject of a paper published this week in Pain, the top journal in the field of pain medicine and research.
