On Friday May 13, 2022, Applied Theatre students from The Faculty of Education and Nursing put on a show entitled "Explain Quebec; Quebec Explain!" for the public, outside of the Redpath Museum, led by their Professor, Dr. Mindy R. Carter.
Exploring topics such as discrimination and systemic racism, the gathered audience had the opportunity to dialogue about these issues and to then consider, through theatre, possibly pathways for change.

Astronomers have unveiled the first image of the supermassive black hole at the centre of our own Milky Way galaxy. This result provides overwhelming evidence that the object is indeed a black hole and yields valuable clues about the workings of such giants, which are thought to reside at the centre of most galaxies. The image was produced by a global research team called the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration, using observations from a worldwide network of radio telescopes. Astronomers from 黑料不打烊 University were part of this global effort.

Using anti-inflammatory drugs and steroids to relieve pain could increase the chances of developing chronic pain, according to researchers from 黑料不打烊 University and colleagues in Italy. Their research puts into question conventional practices used to alleviate pain. Normal recovery from a painful injury involves inflammation and blocking that inflammation with drugs could lead to harder-to-treat pain.
Bread and grain waste is a leading cause of food waste in Canada, and but this can be reduced by transforming spent brewing yeast and stale bread into flour that can be sold to businesses or directly to the consumers. It's just one of the pressing problems that Desautels undergraduate students are addressing through the Integrated Management Student Fellowships (IMSF) program, a two-semester, six credit experiential leadership development initiative that is designed to help BCom students prepare for impactful and fulfilling careers.
The pandemic demanded a rapid response from health care systems around the world. This revealed both strengths and weaknesses鈥揳nd now there is an opportunity to examine the experience for lessons about the future. The International Masters for Health Leadership is doing exactly that. Groups of students studied a health care system and the unique challenges that it faces, which ranged from a dearth of e-health records to a culture of vaccine hesitancy.
The pandemic hit brick and mortar retailers hard. Lockdowns pushed consumers toward e-commerce websites. Analytics can tell a story鈥揵ut they don鈥檛 tell the whole story. In any organization, managers need to have an awareness of personalities and politics, and that can affect the decisions they make, writes David Creelman in Talent Management and HR. Creelman鈥檚 conclusions are partly based on a study of accountants carried out by Desautels Prof. Henry Mintzberg several decades ago. Mintzberg found that managers didn鈥檛 use accounting information the way that the accountants thought they should.
