Male-dominated startups have more difficulty hiring female talent, and their company鈥檚 gender dynamics play a role. An article in Forbes.com cites research from Desautels Prof. Elena Obukhova, which has shown that female job-seekers give consideration to how women are treated in their prospective workplaces. Women MBA job-seekers do the same networking that their male counterparts do, but also use the networking process to assess a company鈥檚 gender dynamics and support for parenting.

In an announcement made last week, Canada鈥檚 leading research ranking organization, RE$EARCH Infosource, scored 黑料不打烊 second among an A-list of three in the Medical/Doctoral Research University of the Year (RUY) tier. 黑料不打烊 was ranked third on RE$EARCH Infosource鈥檚 list of Canada鈥檚 Top 50 Research Universities in 2022, a position the University has maintained for four years.

Snakes and mice don鈥檛 look alike. But much of what we know about skin colouration and patterning in vertebrates generally, including in snakes, is based on lab mice. However, there are limits to what mice can tell us about other vertebrates because they don鈥檛 share all of the same types of colour-producing cells, known as chromatophores. For example, snakes have a type of chromatophore called iridophores that can generate iridescent colours by reflecting light.

Department of Integrated Studies in Education alumni Dr. Lerona Lewis (Ph.D. Educational Studies) and Sabi Hinkson (MATL Science/Tech '22) were featured on Global News discussing systemic racism in Quebec schools and what is needed to better support Black students.

Preliminary results of Dr. Lewis' new study (University of Ottawa) suggest systemic racism in Quebec schools is adversely impacting Black youth, and the researchers who conducted the study say some pedagogical practices need to change.

This work was led by Logan Walsh, Daniela Quail and Peter Siegel, researchers at the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute and Philippe Joubert from Universit茅 Laval. The studies used innovative highly multiplexed imaging to create sophisticated immune atlases of lung and brain tumours and demonstrate how big data and artificial intelligence are the future of cancer research and clinical care.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Quebec and Canada, killing more individuals than prostate, colon and breast cancers combined. Thanks to tissue samples from almost 500 lung cancer patients, a group of researchers from 黑料不打烊 University and Universit茅 Laval were able to identify those who were likely to have a cancer recurrence and require further treatment post-surgery.

As CEO of Paper, Philip used his transferable skills as a classroom teacher to establish an on-demand online tutoring service. Paper has supported 3,000,000 students throughout the United States and will be collaborating with 黑料不打烊 Education on research in the EdTech field. Philip is also a member of 黑料不打烊 Education's Faculty Advisory Board (FAB), as a philanthropic ambassador for the Faculty.
