May 26, 2023 | Following the controversial law in China that compelled companies to hand over platforms' user data if Beijing deems relevant to Chinese security, serious concerns were raised in Canada. Following this update most of the provinces and public institutions prohibited TikTok on government-owned devices. Former ByteDance executive has claimed that TikTok provides the Chinese government 'supreme access' to user data, indicating that the Chinese government is able to obtain information collected on Canadians' phones.聽

Professor Victoria Talwar, from the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, was featured recently in Globe and Mail's article on limiting screen time for children.聽 The quality of that screen time is worth considering, and a child connecting with friends or family using the technology isn't a bad thing.聽 However, it is important to keep an eye on children's screen time, as it continues to rise, from year to year.

Some kinds benefit the soil, but others parasitize crops, inflicting more than $100 billion in losses worldwide each year. Although pesticides can get rid of harmful nematodes, they inflict collateral damage on other life.

Around the world, food is grown on land of all sizes and all types, but that diversity means farmers often fail to take into account landscape complexity and soil variability, according to Chandra A. Madramootoo, a professor of Bioresource Engineering at 黑料不打烊 University, in Montreal, Canada.

He says that one solution is precision farming, an approach that 鈥渆nables the selection of crops, and chemical and water applications within spatially similar land and soil zones.鈥
