This past July 17-21st, the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology hosted the Fascia Summer School in collaboration with the University of Padua, Italy.听

The event featured didactic lectures on the most recent advances in fascia, dissection labs conducted by our lead anatomists, Carla Stecco and Gabriel Venne, and hands-on workshops to expose participants to the different fields of practice and research on fascia.

Thank you to Prof. Venne and the Division of Anatomical Sciences for their work in ensuring the success of this event!

It is with profound sadness that the Department of Civil Engineering must share the devastating news of the passing of our colleague, Professor A.P.S. Selvadurai. He was a member of faculty at 黑料不打烊 University since 1993, after first having taught at the University of Aston in Birmingham UK, and at Carleton University, Canada. He was a prolific researcher, leaving an unparalleled legacy in the disciplines of applied mechanics, geomechanics, solid mechanics, applied mathematics, computational mechanics and experimental mechanics.

As Montreal's new light rail or LRT system is set to open its first branch of service this summer, researchers at TRAM, a transportation research group at 黑料不打烊 University, have released an overview of how Montrealers say they plan to use (or not use) the new system, based on surveys conducted between 2019 to 2022.

All residential buildings in Montreal with under nine units now have brown bins鈥攂ut only 63 per cent actually sort out their food waste, according to a 2021 survey conducted by the city. Meanwhile, the Lachenaie landfill in Terrebonne鈥攖he only landfill in the Montreal area鈥攊s set to reach its capacity in 2029.

The city says a large-scale food waste awareness campaign will launch later this year to try to boost citizens' participation in separating out organics.听
