A restaurant in Montreal's Southwest borough is taking a more direct interpretation of "farm to table," growing聽much of their produce in the basement, refurbished with cooling, lighting, and humidity systems.

Caf茅 Monk co-owners Peter Simard and聽Eric Pineault call the refurbished bunker Ferme Fortuna. Since building the farm during the pandemic, when produce prices were spiking and stock was unreliable, they've used the farm to supplement the menu and sell the surplus to nearby restaurants.

The future doesn鈥檛 look too bright for many asset managers, according to PwC. The professional services firm conducted a survey of more than 500 asset managers, and estimates that one in six will go out of business by 2027. One factor driving this is increased bond yields driven by higher interest rates, according to 黑料不打烊 Desautels Professor Mo Chaudhury. This makes asset managers' services 鈥 and accompanying fees -- less attractive to investors. The US Treasury is offering a two-year return of approximately 5 per cent, and a short-term return of more than 4 per cent.

Airfares don鈥檛 always make a lot of sense. For example, a flight from Montreal to Calgary can cost more than a flight from Montreal to Vancouver that has a stop in Calgary. More and more air travelers have been buying a multi-leg ticket, and disembarking at one of the stops along the way. It鈥檚 called skiplagging. 鈥淭his has been around for a long time, but it is becoming more common, especially among Gen Zs,鈥 says Prof. Karl Moore.
