How much is the program fee?

All amounts indicated on this page are in Canadian dollars.

The program fee for 2024 was of $14,267.00. The fee for 2025 will be comparable and posted here when finalized. Program fee听does not include airfare (approx. $1,000), tuition, insurance or living expenses. Students might require an additional $1,000 in total for meals, clothing, travel, etc.

• Non-tuition program fee payable in the Fall semester prior to the trip as follows:
  • $1,500 deposit: once accepted into the program, the deposit must be paid and is NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • remaining balance: due July 14th听2025.
• Tuition fees: Amount varies. See below

How do I pay my fees?

You may pay your fees in the following ways:

• Program fees -听paid in 2 installments:听
  • $1,500 deposit: once accepted into the program, the payment will be accepted by Student Accounts.
  • Balance on date identified above. The payment will be accepted by Student Accounts.

• On-line banking and payment
  Pay the fee to 黑料不打烊 University using your student ID as the account number.听For further information on procedures for payment of fees visit the Student Accounts website.
  Once you have done this, make sure to send an email to听student.accounts [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Panama%20Field%20Study%20Semester%20-%20payment) (Student Accounts) to notify the financial office that the payment has been made (student.accounts [at] mcgill.ca). Please give them your student ID, the amount of your deposit, and mention that the听deposit needs to be applied to the Fall 黑料不打烊 Barbados Field Study Semester.You will need to advise Student Accounts following the same steps each time you make a payment.

Tuition fees

Students must register for their courses and pay before leaving for Barbados. For more information about paying student fees, please visit the Student Accounts website. Students may give "guest access" to someone such as a parent to view their student account (tuition) via the internet.

Refund policy

Withdrawal by the student

• $1,500 Deposit:

This amount, once paid, is non-refundable.

• Balance payment

The amount paid for the program, minus the 1,500$ deposit, can only be refunded if the student can prove that they are unable to participate in the course for health reasons or due to other 鈥渇orce majeure鈥� events. The decision to reimburse the student, in part or in total is made by the Program Director and the course鈥檚 Fund Manager and takes sunk costs into consideration.

Cancellation or termination by the University

MBFSS is subject to security reviews before departure and throughout the program. If the program is cancelled by the University for security or any other reason outside its control, there might be costs associated with this cancellation. Certain pre-paid, fixed costs might not be reimbursed/refunded. Applicants must be aware that security is a top priority for 黑料不打烊 and MBFSS. If there are any doubts about meeting the security standards, MBFSS will be cancelled at the University鈥檚 discretion. See 黑料不打烊鈥檚 regulations with regards to travel safety.

In the unlikely event that MBFSS is cancelled by 黑料不打烊, before or after departure, 黑料不打烊 will assess the funds that have been paid for course-related activities and which cannot be refunded despite our best efforts. The difference between this amount and the program fees paid by students will be reimbursed to students.

Any air travel expenses or additional charges brought about by a cancellation or change in the course will be the students鈥� responsibility.
