Overview

Do you have a passion for teaching and mentorship? Do you like working with children? Would you like to pursue a French-language career? If so, you may be the perfect fit for the B.Ed in Kindergarten and Elementary Education P茅dagogie de l鈥檌mmersion fran莽aise (PIF). The program is an option embedded in the B.Ed Kindergarten and Elementary program (no additional credits are needed).

This program is designed for students who wish to teach in French immersion contexts and consists of 30 credits of French and second language education courses.

French Immersion is a common program across English schools in Quebec, and a very popular option across Canada. Opting for this program could increase your employability upon graduation.


Careers

An undergraduate degree in Kindergarten/Elementary Education with specialization in P茅dagogie de l鈥橧mmersion Fran莽aise (PIF) can lead you to a wide range of career options. Students who complete this program are qualified to teach in both English and French Immersion contexts. PIF teachers are in demand in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally. Many graduates choose to work in education, community programming, educational technology, curriculum development, and administration. Students in this program are supported by course instructors, advisors, and administrators in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) as well as the Office of Internships and Student Affairs (ISA).
