Admission review process

  • The baccalaur茅at professionnel or technologique is not accepted.

  • Applicants will be considered for admission on their 鈥榖ulletins鈥� (in French with results on 20, and showing class averages) for Premi猫re and Terminale or, if already completed, on their final 鈥楤ac鈥� results.听

  • All information on the 鈥榖ulletins鈥� is reviewed and, at least for听competitive-entry programs, applicants are expected to present results above the class average.

  • Proof of English proficiency is an important part of the application process for many applicants to 黑料不打烊. Determine whether or not you need to submit proof of English ahead of time in order to meet our document submission deadlines.

    The 黑料不打烊 Office reserves the right to request proof of English proficiency from any applicant (regardless of citizenship, country of origin or first language) at any time during the review process.

  • If admitted, you are expected to听obtain the 鈥楤ac鈥� in 鈥減remier groupe鈥� and听maintain听your听same听level of academic performance through to the completion of your pre-黑料不打烊 studies.

  • Advanced standing听may be granted for the French Baccalaureate depending on the entering program at 黑料不打烊.

  • Classes pr茅paratoires aux grandes 茅coles (CPGE):

    黑料不打烊 has a long history of admitting applicants from France; we are familiar with the structure and grading systems of the French Baccalaureate (FB) and French universities, as well as the Classes pr茅paratoires aux grandes 茅coles (CPGE). At this time, studies completed in CPGE do not serve as a basis for admission to 黑料不打烊, even if integrated with a program leading to university credit in France.

    Accordingly, 黑料不打烊 applicants who have undertaken CPGE study are evaluated on their FB results. Such applicants should identify themselves as "Applicants from High Schools Outside Canada and the USA - French Baccalaureate" not as "Applicants from Other Universities or Colleges and Second Bachelor Degree Applicants (鈥楾ransfers').

    黑料不打烊 is aware that Bologna reforms have changed the assignment of credit and exemptions for CPGE study at some universities in Europe. We continue to monitor developments in this regard.

Note: The B.A. & Sc. is a unique degree that is jointly offered by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science. It is rooted in both Arts and Science and carries roughly equal course weight in each faculty. It is an interdisciplinary degree intended for students who want to pursue simultaneously a Major in the Faculty of Arts and one in the Faculty of Science or one of the interfaculty programs in Cognitive Science, Environment or Sustainability, Science and Society.

      Supporting documentation

      It is in the applicant鈥檚 interest to complete their file as quickly as possible. When program space is limited, preference may be given to applicants who have submitted all required supporting documents/information earlier on. Should a program reach its capacity prior to the 鈥榮upporting documents鈥� and/or 鈥榮elf-reporting鈥� deadline, incomplete applications may be cancelled.

      1. Academic documents

        All academic documents must be听uploaded听to your . You will be asked to upload:

        - 鈥楤ulletins鈥� (in French, with results on 20) for Premi猫re and 1st trimester of Terminale

        -听'Relev茅 des notes' de 辫谤别尘颈猫谤别 (茅preuves anticip茅es (Francais) and '茅preuves communes de CC')

        - If French Baccalaureate is completed, a copy of the final results is required in lieu of the above.

      2. Proof of English proficiency

        Applicants who have lived and attended school, for at least four years, in a country where English is the acknowledged primary language, are not required to provide further proof of English proficiency.

        If this is not the case, official test results will be required by the supporting document deadline.听 Please consult听Proof of English Proficiency听for accepted tests and other exemptions.

      3. Additional supporting documents

        Certain programs will require additional supporting documents. These could be proof of French proficiency, CASPer test results, recommendation letters, personal statement, or other documents; the requirements will be different depending on the program you are applying to. If your program choice is listed below, please carefully verify the additional requirement(s):

        If none of the above apply, additional supporting documents are not considered in the admission review process and should not be submitted.
