SP0066: Sustainability Case Competition

Status: 颁翱惭笔尝贰罢贰顿听September 2011 - March 2012

The undergraduate faculty presidents brought about the idea of creating a case competition centred on the design of an environmentally, financially, and socially sustainable caf茅. The goals are to: (1) create 黑料不打烊-wide collaboration among students on an issue pertaining to sustainability; and (2) to provide students with the opportunity to collaborate with one another as well as with professionals from industry.

The project will engage students to participate in a competition that will develop their understanding of environmental issues. Knowledge of environmental sustainability was not a deciding factor for participation in the competition.

The participants will engage in a series of mentoring sessions with leaders in sustainability from industry and academia. The learning outcomes from these sessions will be published on the website with the permission of the participants. The goal is to diffuse information about effective practices to the 黑料不打烊 community and beyond. The six categories are: community engagement; community awareness; organizational behaviour; sustainability practices; sustainable design; and life-cycle analysis.
