Le certificat permet d'acquérir des connaissances plus avancées en informatique et offre une base solide dans les concepts et les techniques essentielles à la planification, à la conception et au développement efficace d'applications logicielles et de systèmes, et dans l'emploi des connaissances informatiques en technologies d'Internet et de réseau. Le programme procure aux participants les connaissances et les habiletés nécessaires pour démarrer une carrière en technologie de l'information : opérateur de saisie de l'information, soutien aux opérations du centre de données, spécialiste en développement et en maintenance de logiciel, administrateur de réseau, technicien en média, consultant au soutien informatique, analyste au centre d'assistance, spécialiste du soutien technique ou spécialiste Web et Internet.
