Dr. Kenneth Myers grew up in Kingston, Ontario, and after high school moved to British Columbia where he completed an honours BSc in Physics & Physiology. In 2004, Dr. Myers went to Alberta and completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, an MD, and then a residency in Pediatric Neurology, all at the University of Calgary. In 2015, he moved to Melbourne, Australia for a 2-year fellowship in epilepsy with an emphasis on genetics, under the supervision of Professors Ingrid Scheffer and Sam Berkovic. Dr. Myers started at the Montreal Children’s Hospital in 2017 in a clinician-researcher role – his research is mainly directed at better understanding genetic causes of epilepsy, and includes clinical trials for rare diseases. He has loved his time in Montreal thus far, in particular the collegial and intellectually-stimulating atmosphere in the MUHC. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cross-country skiing, and playing with his dog.
