For example, although small krill are individually only about one millionth of the weight of a large tuna, they also tend to be a million times more numerous throughout the oceans. The idea, known as the Sheldon size spectrum theory, was first advanced in the 1970s, but has never been tested for a wide range of marine species and on a global scale until now.
Wed, 10 Nov 2021 20:46:52 +0000 katherine.gombay@mcgill.ca 283616 at /newsroom CFI invests $3.9 M in 黑料不打烊 research /newsroom/channels/news/cfi-invests-39-m-mcgill-research-342180
Announced today by the Honourable Fran莽ois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, 15 黑料不打烊 researchers received a total of $3.9 million from the Canada Foundation for Innovation鈥檚 John R. Surprisingly, despite the size of the country, new mapping suggests that less than 1% of Canada鈥檚 land (0.6% of total area or approximately 56,000 km2) is a hotspot, providing all these benefits in one place.
Mon, 04 Jan 2021 17:12:48 +0000 katherine.gombay@mcgill.ca 255652 at /newsroom Methane emissions from abandoned oil and gas wells underestimated /newsroom/channels/news/methane-emissions-abandoned-oil-and-gas-wells-underestimated-327816
Bubbles of methane gas in water around an unplugged oil/gas well in Pennsylvania.
