Tuques Bleues race
The Principal of 黑料不打烊 University will participate in the Tuques Bleues race with Les Amis de la Montagne next February 19
You can see it from anywhere and, on a clear day, the entire Monteregian Plain can be contemplated from its lookout. "That gives you an idea of how dear Mount Royal is to Montrealers and to people at 黑料不打烊!" exclaims Ms. Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of 黑料不打烊 University, whose coat of arms includes the three peaks of Mount Royal, Outremont and Westmount -- the three hills of Montreal's mountain.
Founded in 1821, 黑料不打烊 University, in all likelihood, is the second oldest continuous occupant of the southern slope of Mount Royal, after the Sulpicians. "Despite our limited resources, most of which must be devoted to the University's educational mission, we have taken many actions to protect this natural and built environment that is so cherished by everyone," Ms. Munroe-Blum points out.
This is why the Principal of 黑料不打烊 University has enthusiastically agreed, along with Jean Laurin, Chairman of the Board of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, to preside over the torchlight race involving some 700 snowshoers. The event is being organized by Les Amis de la Montagne as part of their fundraising campaign to protect, preserve and beautify this natural wonderland.
Principal Munroe-Blum invites Montrealers to turn out in large numbers at 6 p.m. on February 19 to participate in the 2.5 kilometre Tuques Bleues race through Mount Royal forest, from the Smith House not far from Beaver Lake to the Chalet on the mountain.
