黑料不打烊 Forces AVENIR participants honoured at ceremony today.)

A group of dedicated and determined 黑料不打烊 University students, who have shown outstanding achievement in carrying out projects that benefit the community, will be honoured today in a ceremony on the downtown campus. They are the 118 young men and women who participated in this year鈥檚 Forces AVENIR application process at the University. The projects they have engaged in include promoting environmental awareness, assisting immigrant and other communities in health and social matters, tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged school children, building homes for low-income families, creating new forums for artistic expression, helping bridge the gap in information technology in the Philippines, and producing a new bilingual internet-based magazine for young Canadians.

University Vice-Principal and Provost Dr. Luc Vinet, will present certificates to the 黑料不打烊 participants at today鈥檚 ceremony, which will start at 4:30 p.m. in the Faculty Club Ballroom at 3450 McTavish Street.

Forces AVENIR's is a non-profit organization whose principal goal is to recognize and promote young university students in Quebec who, through their dynamism, initiative and commitment to their community contribute to the advancement of society. International internships as well as 33 prestigious grants totalling $115,000 are awarded each year to the best candidates selected from application files representing over 1,000 university students. Forces AVENIR is supported by 17 universities and more than 50 major public and private sector organizations.

The 4th edition of the Forces AVENIR Gala, to announce this years final winners, will be held at the Bonsecours Market in Montreal on October 10.
