Jonathan Kimmelman, director of biomedical ethics at 黑料不打烊 University, agreed companies have some obligation to continue to provide care for patients who take part in studies to test experimental products. 鈥淎ny time a patient participates in a trial, they鈥檙e volunteering their body to advance science,鈥� he said from Montreal. 鈥淎nd if it鈥檚 a trial being run by a pharmaceutical company, they鈥檙e volunteering their bodies to advance the goals of the pharmaceutical company, whether that鈥檚 a big pharmaceutical company or a small one. 鈥淎nd they are entitled to some kinds of protection and respect, and they鈥檙e also entitled to some degree of reciprocity.鈥�
