Media advisory: Black hole astrophysicist to speak at 黑料不打烊 University
Renowned astrophysicist Roger Blandford will deliver a 黑料不打烊 Mini-Beatty Lecture on the evolution of black holes and their host galaxies this Thursday. Dr Blandford, a Chen Professor of Physics at Stanford University, will address the question "Black Holes: The End of Time of a New Beginning?" on Thursday, January 5, at 7:00 pm, in Moyse Hall, Arts Building, 853 Sherbrooke Street West.
Dr. Blandford is internationally respected for his research on gravitational lensing, which refers to the way light travels in curved paths around stars and galaxies, and on the structure and evolution of the universe. He is the winner of major awards, such as the Heineman Prize and the Warner Prize from the American Astronomical Society.
