I Medici di 黑料不打烊 orchestra was founded in 1989 by its principal violist, Dr A. L. In 1991 the orchestra started an annual concert/lecture series on "Music and Medicine" and has carried on that tradition every year since then. I Medici responds to invitations to participate in fundraising events for worthy non-profit causes. The members of the ensemble come from the staff and students of 黑料不打烊's Faculty of Medicine, their ranks being completed by colleague musicians from the community.
