We are each in charge of our own health and well-being and having the right information can help us stay healthy and recover when we are not well. The Internet is filled with health information, some trustworthy and evidence-based, and some designed to sell something or to misinform. Each year books are published that make big claims about health topics, some are based on evidence, and some are nothing more than one person’s opinion.

Kiki as Resistance: Shaping Black Queer and Trans Identities (in-person)
This talk will explore the impact of ballroom culture on Black LGBTQ+ identity, weaving together storytelling and Africentric research principles. Through narratives drawn from community experiences, I aim to highlight how ballroom serves as both a space for self-discovery and resistance. Demonstrations of vogue and face, presented by Father Ali Old Navy, will ground the discussion in the movement and creativity of the kiki scene, bringing its energy into the room.
