 choll en droit et politique de la santé à l'Université de Toronto. \nRésum
 é\nDepuis la thalidomide\, les lois mises en place pour améliorer la sécur
 ité et l'efficacité de produits pharmaceutiques a généré une foule de prat
 iques administratives\, industrielles et scientifiques. Ces pratiques\, en
  combinaison avec une multitude de développements sociaux\, culturels et s
 cientifiques\, y compris l'accent sur la médecine basée sur les preuves\, 
 ont resserré l'emprise de l'industrie sur la production de connaissances p
 harmaceutiques.\nCes lois et les réglementations ont ainsi facilité la fra
 ude et les fausses représentations\, tandis que le contrôle croissant de l
 'industrie sur les connaissances scientifiques a aussi sapé l'intégrité de
 s mécanismes de responsabilité délictuelle traditionnels qui pourraient of
 frir une indemnisation aux personnes touchées par ces pratiques.\nLe profe
 sseur Lemmens discutera de ces développements et explorera brièvement la f
 orce et les faiblesses de certains outils juridiques visant à freiner cett
 e tendance\, en accordant une attention particulière aux débats devant les
  tribunaux sur la transparence et l'accès aux données. Considérant le rôle
  central de la connaissance scientifique et l'impact des produits pharmace
 utiques sur l'intégrité physique et mentale\, il fera valoir que les Etats
  ont une obligation d’encourager la production indépendante du savoir scie
 ntifique.\nBiographie\n(En anglais seulement) Trudo Lemmens is Professor a
 nd Scholl Chair in Health Law and Policy at the Faculty of Law of the Univ
 ersity of Toronto\, with cross appointments in the Faculty of Medicine and
  the Joint Centre for Bioethics. He holds a Licentiate in Law from the K.U
 . Leuven (Belgium) and both an LLM (bioethics) and Doctorate in Law (DCL) 
 from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University. Since joining the University of Toronto Faculty of
  Law\, he has been a member of the School of Social Science of the Institu
 te for Advanced Study in Princeton\, a visiting fellow of the Royal Flemis
 h Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts\, a visiting professor at th
 e K.U. Leuven\, the University of Otago (New Zealand) and the Centre for T
 ransnational Legal Studies\, a Plumer Visiting Fellow at Oxford’s St. Anne
 ’s College\, and an academic visitor of Oxford University's HeLEX Center f
 or Health\, Law and Emerging Technologies. He has been a member of various
  provincial\, national and international committees\, and is currently a m
 ember of the Advisory Committee on Health Research of the Pan American Hea
 lth Organization and of the Board of the Ontario Mental Health Foundation.
  \nHis research and teaching is situated at the interface of law\, ethics\
 , and professional governance. His current research focuses on the complex
  interaction between law\, governance mechanisms\, and ethical norms and v
 alues in the context of health care\, biomedical research\, health product
