Presenting online is a 2 part Workshop Series designed to help graduate students increase the impact of their presentations, particularly in online environments. The 2x60 minute workshops are designed to cover the basics of everything from optimizing set-up and transforming visuals to honing content, developing effective engagement strategies and increasing the effectiveness of your voice and body language. Issues specific to both short (less than 8 minute) and long (longer than 20 minute) formats will be addressed. Each workshop will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A where participants are encouraged to ask specific questions about their research and try implementing strategies from the first hour.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understanding how to use audience and purpose analysis to hone content
2. Understanding the basics of effective online set-up including lighting and camera height
3. Learning strategies to increase interactivity in an online environment
4. Learning strategies to use voice and body language effectively in an online environment
5. Learning how to transform visuals to increase effectiveness online

NOTE: Co-curricular Record Credit will be given for participants who attend both sessions in full.听

BIO:听Dr. Andrew Churchill obtained his doctorate in education from 黑料不打烊 University in 2011 after receiving his M.B.A. from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. For the last 10 years he has been working with both academics and business professionals in classes, seminars, professional workshops, and through independent contract work to help them hone their communication skills. His presentation coaching work focuses on refining content, voice, body language and visuals in order to increase engagement and comprehension. His workshops consistently receive excellent reviews from participants, and his excellence in teaching has earned him recognition with a Distinguished Teaching Award from 黑料不打烊 University.
