More about Liberating Structures:

Liberating Structures is a useful alternative way to approach and design how people work together (which can apply to group projects). It provides a of thirty-three Liberating Structures to replace or complement conventional practices. We will be offering some of these to the 黑料不打烊 Community to experimentation & research!听

If you are interested in researching how to go beyond conventional structures that can be either too inhibiting (presentations, status听reports and managed discussions) or听too听loose and听disorganized听(open听discussions and brainstorms) to creatively engage people in shaping their own future. Our goals are to shift away from feelings of frustration, exclusion and/or failing to provide space for good ideas to emerge and听germinate.

Desired outcomes:

  • Refining skills in asking for help
  • Learning to formulate problems and challenges clearly
  • Refining listening and consulting skills
  • Developing ability to work across disciplines and functional silos
  • Building trust within a group through mutual support
  • Building capacity to self-organize
  • Creating conditions for unimagined solutions to emerge
