Nancy Ing BSc(FSc)’15, Dip Supply Chain & Op Mgmt ’20 Food Safety Consultant | Digitalization & BI Specialist at Datahex

Nancy graduated from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University with a Bachelor in Food Science (Food Chemistry). She started my career path as a Quality Control Supervisor at Rose Hill Foods, a spice and marinade manufacturing company for a year, and then was promoted to HACCP coordinator and SQF practitioner for another year. She later joined Systems Datahex and to take on the position of a food safety consultant. During her time at Systems Datahex, she completed her graduate diploma in Supply Chain and Operations Management at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. Two years in, she took in some additional projects as a digitalization and BI specialist.

Marika Houde BSc(FSc)/BSc(NutrSc)’14, MSc’17 Senior R&D Specialist Kraft Heinz Company

Ìý

Marika completed the concurrent Food Science and Nutritional Sciences program in 2014 and a MSc. in Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry in 2021. She stayed close following graduation, working alongside Dr. Salwa Karboune as a research assistant, managing R&D projects bridging food start-ups with undergraduate students, and assisting in coordinating the RITA co-creation network.

While her first private sector role was in regulatory affairs at Abbott Nutrition, Marika returned to her passion and joined Kraft Heinz as an R&D scientist in 2021, reformulating and commercializing a variety of products. Today, she is a senior R&D scientist at Kraft Heinz, where she leads work plans for cost reduction idea development and execution across all businesses within Kraft Heinz North America.

Michael Doseger BSc(FSc)’18 Area Technical Support Coordinator Ecolab

Ìý

Michael graduated from the Food Science program in 2018, and is currently an Area Technical Support Coordinator - Brewing & Beverage Canada for Ecolab. He started his career working for Molson and Labatt Breweries in the quality department, followed by account management for water treatment and then Ecolab. Michael is passionate about the brewing and distilling industry. In his free time, he can be found on the ski hill or golfing.

Kalena Carpentier QA Systems Manager Saputo Inc. BSc(FSc)’14

Kalena Carpentier has been at Saputo for almost 11 years. She studied Food Science/Food Chemistry at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, and the summer before her last semester started working at Saputo in Regulatory Affairs. She was able to extend her stay at Saputo part time in the fall while completing her last semester, after which a position opened up in Quality Assurance Systems. She became a QA Systems Analyst, later transitioning to a supervisor and now manager.
