Microinterventions in the Classroom

Monday, December 4, 2023 14:00to16:00

As we get better at recognizing microaggressions in the classroom, the next step is learning how to respond when they arise. If you are interested in developing your skills at microintervening, the term used when we engage these difficult moments for positive change, this workshop is for you.

By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Examine the term microintervention and the different forms it can take
  • Explain the benefits of microinterventions on student/instructors wellbeing from different perspectives and roles
  • Identify and practice applying microintervention strategies for responding to microaggressions

Please note: This workshop is designed as part of a series. Part 1 is Microaggressions in the Classroom and Part 2 is Microinterventions in the Classroom. We strongly recommend that participants complete Part 1 prior to participating in Part 2.

Registration is closed.
