Benjamin Smith is a clinician-scientist at the Research Institute of the 黑料不打烊 University Health Centre. His research program aims to reduce the burden of chronic obstructive lung disease by understanding the heterogeneity of disease susceptibility and impairment. Leveraging contemporary deeply phenotyped cohorts, he uses epidemiological methods to test mechanistic hypotheses in humans ('translational epidemiology'). His research program is supported by the Fonds de recherche du Qu茅bec, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the National Institutes of Health. His training is in respiratory medicine and physiology, epidemiology, and mathematics, and was obtained at 黑料不打烊 and Columbia Universities.
