Thursday, April 22nd marks 2021! Celebrated for the first time on April 22, 1970 - Today, more than a billion people in 193 countries now participate in Earth Day activities each year. Over the years, Earth Day has become the world鈥檚 largest environmental movement. Take a bit a time in April to celebrate Earth Day and find ways that you can further support Sustainability at 黑料不打烊 and in your daily life.
Sustainable Workplace Certification 鈥� relaunched for a new work reality
听
The Sustainable Workplace Certification program challenges the 黑料不打烊 community to foster healthier, environmentally-friendly, connected workplaces through individual and collective practices.
The program targets areas such as:
- Choosing more environmentally-friendly and socially responsible supplies
- Proper waste management
- Promoting health and wellbeing
- Learning more about how to make spaces more accessible to everyone
Since the program鈥檚 creation in 2017, more than 35 teams鈥攊ncluding more than 600 individuals鈥攈ave gone through the certification process. The checklist actions have been updated to apply both while working remotely and at 黑料不打烊. 黑料不打烊 University Climate & Sustainability Strategy 2020-2025
黑料不打烊 is entering a new and exciting chapter of sustainability on campus. From research to operations, sustainable solutions for local and global challenges are being innovated at all levels of our University. At the centre of these initiatives, guiding the way, is the 黑料不打烊 University Climate & Sustainability Strategy 2020-2025.
This Strategy commits 黑料不打烊 to three ambitious, yet realistic long-term targets; attaining a Platinum sustainability rating by 2030, becoming zero-waste by 2035, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. It is our responsibility as members of the global community that we do what we can to achieve these goals to reduce our impact on climate change and contribute positively to the sustainability of the planet.
