´¡²õÌý, it is time to fully integrate Black history into Québec education.

As an all-out  rages below Canada’s southern border, an opportunity is opened for Québec to live up to  and multicultural society.

Integral to this is mainstreaming the histories of Black, Indigenous and other racialized and equity-deserving communities. This can be done through history studies and also through citizenship and cultural education.

It is important to go beyond Black History Month in order to embrace the importance of Black history for Black students and all students — ignored for too long in history textbooks and teaching.

Two Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) instructors, Sabrina Jafrali and R. Nanre Nafziger teamed up to co-author Moving beyond Black history month towards inclusive histories in Québec secondary schools for the Conversation Canada.
