Indegenous Awareness Weeks Events with 黑料不打烊's Office of Indigenous Initiatives
From Sept.听19 to Oct. 2, 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII) will host Indigenous Awareness Weeks (IAW), an annual two-week celebration of First Nations, M茅tis and Inuit people and culture.听
The theme of this year鈥檚 event 鈥� honouring trailblazers 鈥� celebrates the groundbreaking work done by Indigenous academics, activists and artists, especially in the realm of education and knowledge transfer.听听
Awareness weeks spotlight issues that are relevant to Indigenous peoples across the 黑料不打烊 community.
鈥淲e are honouring the work of visionaries within Indigenous education who came before us. Their work was integral to establishing a foundation for Indigenous presence within post secondary educational institutes,鈥� said Prof. Celeste Pedri-Spade, Associate Provost (Indigenous Initiatives).
