On the one hand, financial analysts are professional earnings forecasters whose livelihood depends on the accuracy of their work. On the other hand, trade uncertainty might be severe enough to undermine the credibility and accuracy of analysts鈥 forecasts.
Fri, 28 Aug 2020 19:17:31 +0000 angela.l.williams@mcgill.ca 76296 at /desautels Recapping the 2019 黑料不打烊 Accounting Research Conference /desautels/channels/news/recapping-2019-mcgill-accounting-research-conference-297594
The 2019 黑料不打烊 Accounting Research Conference (MARC), organized by professors Hongping Tan, Dongyoung Lee, and Jingjing Zhang at the Desautels Faculty of Management, elevated the status of 黑料不打烊 as one of the major research hubs in Canada.
Fri, 07 Jun 2019 14:05:15 +0000 julie.lapalme@mcgill.ca 74515 at /desautels Dongyoung Lee, Jingjing Zhang and Hongping Tan awarded 2018 SSHRC Connection Grant /desautels/channels/news/dongyoung-lee-jingjing-zhang-and-hongping-tan-awarded-2018-sshrc-connection-grant-296318
Congratulations to聽Dongyoung Lee, Assistant Professor in Accounting, Jingjing Zhang, Assistant Professor in Accounting, and Hongping Tan, Associate Professor in Accounting, awarded 2018 SSHRC Connection Grant - 2019 Financial Accounting Research Conference: 鈥淎ccounting Disclosure, Financial Intermediaries, and Capital Market Outcomes鈥 on May 28th 鈥 29th, 2019.
Mon, 15 Apr 2019 19:02:40 +0000 angela.l.williams@mcgill.ca 74216 at /desautels Influential Chief Marketing Officers and Management Revenue Forecasts /desautels/channels/news/influential-chief-marketing-officers-and-management-revenue-forecasts-284605
Authors: David S. Using a sample of S&P 1500 firms for the period from 2003 to 2011, we find that the presence of an influential CMO in top management is positively associated with the likelihood of a firm's issuing a management revenue forecast. We also find that firms with an influential CMO provide more accurate revenue forecasts than other firms. These findings extend to long-window change analyses and are robust to the use of a propensity-score matched-pair approach. Overall, the results are consistent with the notion that CMO influence in top management appears to play an important role in voluntary revenue disclosures.

Read abstract: The Accounting Review

Thu, 08 Feb 2018 18:22:14 +0000 julie.lapalme@mcgill.ca 68354 at /desautels Dongyoung Lee /desautels/dongyoung-lee Tue, 26 Feb 2019 17:08:35 +0000 arifa.nitol@mail.mcgill.ca 64937 at /desautels Corporate Social Responsibility and Management Forecast Accuracy /desautels/channels/news/corporate-social-responsibility-and-management-forecast-accuracy-253777
Author:聽Lee, D.

Publication:聽Journal of Business Ethics

Abstract:聽
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 18:34:47 +0000 veronique.beaulieu-fowler@mcgill.ca 64530 at /desautels "Raising Quality Consciousness among Chinese Manufacturing Personnel: Testing the Effectiveness of Performance Management Tools," Asia Pacific Journal of Management /desautels/channels/news/raising-quality-consciousness-among-chinese-manufacturing-personnel-testing-effectiven
Authors: Daniel, Shirley J.; Lee, Dongyoung; Reitsperger, Wolf D.

Publication: Asia Pacific Journal of Management, 2013

Abstract:
Fri, 15 Nov 2013 21:30:24 +0000 trang.nguyen@mcgill.ca 59381 at /desautels
