Some might see the model of hybrid work as a half-measure, but Shopify is using it to transcend geography 鈥� and as a work-around for the skilled worker shortage that鈥檚 plaguing the tech sector.

"We're trying to be more decisive to say, 鈥榳ork from anywhere, but make sure you and your team are getting together,鈥欌�� said Shopify President Harley Finkelstein in an interview with Prof. Karl Moore for Forbes.com.

The Ottawa-headquartered tech company has adopted a work-from-anywhere model, and even the leadership team can be based anywhere -- as long as they have an internet connection. 鈥淭his idea of being geographically agnostic has meant that Shopify is a talent pool, and our ability to recruit is so much easier and higher now.鈥�
