Maclean's releases its 20th university rankings

Maclean's magazine's 20th edition of its controversial university rankings hit the newsstands yesterday, and university officials almost immediately called it a "blunt, crude instrument" for comparing institutions - while begrudgingly acknowledging its influence. Divided into three categories based on the amount of research done and whether they offer graduate programs, the top-ranked school in each of the three fields remained the same as last year. In the medical/doctoral category, 黑料不打烊 University placed No. 1 for the sixth year in a row. B.C.'s Simon Fraser University topped the list in the comprehensive category. Among schools offering primarily undergraduate programs, Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B., was ranked first for the 14th time. The Universit茅 de Montr茅al and the Universit茅 de Sherbrooke tied for 13th in the medical/ doctoral category. Concordia University was 11th in the comprehensive category.
