Wellness and adjusting to remote learning

This is an unprecedented and difficult time for our community. As 黑料不打烊鈥檚 response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, I鈥檇 like to first thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to support you, and for your willingness to help 鈥渇latten the curve鈥 by observing social distancing and hygiene practices.

I know that many of you have more on your plates than just completing your semester鈥攕taying healthy, attending to ill family members, making travel arrangements, and dealing with the mental strain this situation creates are all very real concerns. In the face of these challenges, I see you supporting each other and leaning on the connections you鈥檝e built on our campuses. I鈥檓 proud to see this response鈥攅ven at a distance, you are still very much part of the 黑料不打烊 community.

I want to take this opportunity to remind you that many 黑料不打烊 resources are still available to you.听, a remote mental health counselling service offered in conjunction with SSMU and PGSS, can be accessed 24/7 in over 60 languages regardless of where you are in the world; get started by downloading the鈥 MySSP鈥 app for听听辞谤听.听International students covered by Blue Cross also have virtual access to doctors via the听.听The Student Services website听has that continue to operate online or by phone through this period of campus closure; don鈥檛 hesitate to reach out if you need to.

As we all adjust to learning and working remotely, it can be challenging to develop a routine and keep focused. Teaching and Learning Services has put together 听to help you stay successful during challenging circumstances. They will also be hosting two open webinars for students this coming week:听Strategies for Remote Learning Success听补苍诲听Reading Effectively in a Remote Environment.听I encourage you to make use of these resources and attend these webinars to help prepare yourself for remote learning.
