Start thinking about scholarships

The Office of the Dean of Students is responsible for three external awards available to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students: theÌý, theÌý, and theÌý. I’ve written before about Forces AVENIR, a Quebec-based monetary award that promotes students and projects that contribute to the development of socially conscious, responsible citizens. °Õ³ó±ðÌýÌýand will close onÌýMarch 31st.

°Õ³ó±ðÌýÌýsupports young, talented, early-career students with a passion for academic leadership. For a period of two years, awardees study at Oxford University in the UK, working toward a degree in addition to their ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ program. Last year, we were fortunate to have not one, but two successful Rhodes Scholars from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ,Ìý. The Rhodes Scholarship involves an intensive application process; details about the selection process for the 2022 entering class are available onÌý. Applications will open in Spring/Summer 2021.

°Õ³ó±ðÌýÌýprovides an opportunity for students to take a one-year Master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Applications also open in Spring/Summer 2021, but it is never too early to begin thinking about and preparing your application.

You will hear more from our office in the coming months about these scholarships, so keep an eye on your ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ emails and our website for updates. A reminder, also, that our office has anÌýÌý´Ç²ÔÌýTuesdays from 3–5 p.m.ÌýIf you would like to speak to us about anything, you can send anÌýdeanofstudents [at] mcgill.ca (email)Ìýany time, or drop into the Zoom session without an appointment.
